Our Mission

Our mission is to bring the hope of Jesus to Greater Vancouver and beyond.

Our Vision

We envision being missional, joining Jesus everyday in his mission to seek and save the lost wherever God has placed us.

We envision being a multiplying church, strategically and sacrificially planting other churches throughout Greater Vancouver and beyond.

We envision being multi-ethnic, living out the beauty of racial reconciliation through the awesome reality of the gospel and our reconciliation to God through the Cross.

We envision being multi-generational, bringing together young and old to share life, work side by side, and learn from one another, resulting in a beautiful synergy as we seek to serve God as one body.

Kids' Church

Hope City Kids’ Church is a clean, fun and safe place for kids to learn about Jesus and grow in their friendship with Him and with others!

The nursery is for ages 0-18 months and meet in the play area in the main atrium. Parents & babies worship, play, interact and listen to the Sunday’s message. There is also a nursing area provided.

Kids’ church for toddlers, preschool & elementary aged children meet in their own designated rooms. If you join us for a Sunday morning, you will be greeted by a host at the door to check your child in. The kids will then join you and the whole church for a few songs of worship and then be invited to their classroom.

There, we will have interactive worship, a Bible lesson time, prayer time, and an activity time that could be a craft, a colouring sheet, or a game that helps apply our lesson. For preschool – grade 3, there will also be an offering time where kids have an opportunity to give towards a need in God’s world (such as buying a pig for a family in need through World Vision).

Intermediate kids & preteens (grades 4+) have a discussion based curriculum with relevant topics about how Jesus integrates into their everyday lives. This age group also meets 2x’s a month for hangouts on Friday nights.

Children will be picked up to join the rest of the church for refreshments following the worship service.

All of our volunteers have had background checks and go through a series of training. We know God loves children deeply and we want to create a place that is caring, safe and exciting!

Community

THE ART OF NEIGHBOURING

We encourage you to intentionally walk around your neighbourhood this week inviting God to help you see your place with God's eyes. What signs of life, redemption, creativity, unity and love do you notice? As you walk, pray for opportunities to meet neighbours, listen for words that come to mind. Write them down. Are there one or two words that comes to mind as you listen and observe? Are there any images of your neighbourhood that speaks to you?

Take some pictures of these images.

This will be your homework: Choose a Word and an Image that is reflective of your neighbourhood or what you might be "seeing" during your walks. Email that word along with the picture to barjung@gmail.com

We would like to have your word and image into us by October 22.

We would like to put together your words and images in a slide show for our final workshop, as a way to celebrate our intentional steps towards loving our neighbours.

Here is a helpful article that gives great perspective on being a better neighbour.
